After a series of shakedown and crew currency flights, N8336C has departed UAO for the D-Day 80th events on the East Coast prior to making the North Atlantic crossing.

The “Spirit of Douglas” livery has been installed, and the aircraft has completed another test-flight coming out of the avionics work scope.

The aircraft has successfully completed several test flights coming out of the avionics upgrade and A-checks. Post flight discrepancies are now in work. The 91.411 and 91.413 IFR certifications are complete, the pitot static system is very tight. New livery installation is in work.

Work on the remaining discrepancies from the A-checks is nearly complete. The interior is being reinstalled in the flight deck and companionway. Avionics have been powered up and are undergoing calibration.

Work on the ship’s electrical to accommodate the new panel layout and avionics continues. Work on the discrepancies found during A-checks is wrapping up.

Discrepancies found during the A-checks are now in work. The mounting bracket for the magnetometer in the wing is being installed. Modification of the existing ship’s electrical system to align with the new panel layout is the most significant part of this project. This aspect of the work is well underway, and we hope it will be completed prior to the end of next week.

Work continues on the avionics upgrade. The overhead instrument backing panels have been installed. The main instrument panel has been installed and instrument installation has started. Wires are being run for the cabin phone and other avionics systems.

The remaining A-checks are nearing completion (to the extent possible considering the disassembled state of electrical and hydraulic systems associated with the avionics work scope.) A list of discrepancies is being compiled. Work on the overhead instrument panel installation continues. We anticipate the arrival of powder coated and engraved main instrument panels within the next few days.
