Flight Training – July 14, 2026

N400MF has flown approximately 20 hours for flight training this week, with three PIC type ratings completed!

Another round of engine runs and a fast taxi test have been completed.

The airplane has been closed up except for cowlings. A second round of engine runs have been accomplished. The inspection program has finally been approved by Juneau FSDO.

The spar repair is complete and the fuel tank reinstalled.

The first engine runs have been accomplished and post-run discrepancies are in work. Work on the spar repair continues.

Seats have been reinstalled in the aircraft. The spar repair is in progress.

The propeller installations are complete. The 91.411 and 91.413 checks are in progress.

Propellers have returned from the overhaul shop and are being installed on the aircraft. Ailerons have been reinstalled and rigging is in progress. Work is wrapping up on the avionics installation. Seats are being reinstalled.

A-check discrepancies and the avionics work scope are approaching completion. Aerometal is working with the Juneau FSDO on inspection program approval.

The wiring harnesses for the GI 275 installation are being installed. Magnetos and Carburetors have returned from Anderson and are being reinstalled. Fuel tanks have been removed to address leaks.

Leaks on the fuel tanks are being addressed. A pulley for the tail wheel lock cable has been installed to prevent wear. Preparation for the avionics upgrade continues.

Work on both motors continues. Instruments have been removed in preparation for the avionics update. Cushions on the flaps are being replaced.

Engine accessories, associated fluid lines, and ignition harnesses are being removed. The #2 Engine ignition harness and magnetos are being sent to Anderson Aeromotive for IRAN. The Carburetors have been sent out for bench check. Heater components have been sent to Nexus for IRAN. Instruments are being removed in preparation for the avionics upgrade.

Work on corrective actions has begun. The heater has been removed, and the engine fire bottle sent out for service.
