The avionics upgrade work scope has concluded and now engine inspections are underway. Waterproofing testing revealed several small leaks which are being addressed.

Instruments are being installed in the new main instrument panels. Main instrument panels are being installed in the flight deck and wired. Work on the circuit breaker panel continues.

Overhead panels are being installed and wired in the flight deck. The circuit breakers are being transferred to the final circuit breaker panel.

Circuit breakers have been wired and are ready for installation into the final panels. relays have been made and assembled. final fitment and prep inside flight deck underway. Paint has been started in the flight deck and all window frames have been painted.

Wire bundles for the magnetometers are being installed in the wing. Instrument panels have arrived. Wiring continues for the new circuit breaker panel. Patterns are being made for flight deck blankets.

Structural repairs on the nose section and flight deck are ongoing. New wiring is being installed for the circuit breaker panel. Buss bars are being installed on the new circuit breakers.

Main instrument panel mockups have arrived and are being test fit and reworked.

Measurements are being taken to install magnetometers in the wing. The nose area is being prepped for weather sealing using dry ice blasting.

The old instrument panel and instruments have been removed in preparation for the avionics upgrade.

Work on the hard lines in the nacelles is nearing completion. Firewall forward flexible fluid lines are being converted from European-style fittings to AN-fittings.

Engine discrepancies are in work. Firewall fluid transfer plates are being remanufactured, using the old ones as templates.


a-checks – august 2024

A series of A-checks are underway.


Propeller installation, firewall shut-off valves, main cabin windows. – july, 2023

The propellers have been reassembled and installed on the aircraft. Firewall Shut-off valves are well into the connection stage. New firewall passthrough fittings have been fabricated and painted to accept the installation. All bracketry and hard connections have been installed and rigged, hoses are being made to finish the installation. Structures shop is drafting up and starting the fabrication process on the firewall shut-off valve handle installation. The main cabin gun-port windows are all installed but one emergency exit that has a screw pitch/pattern discrepancy. All gun-port plugs have been cleaned and refurbished awaiting their installation before all the protective coverings come off the windows.


Firewall shut-off installation, nacelle deep cleaning, main cabin window installation, tail beacon. – june, 2023

The structures crew is plugging away, fabricating all necessary components to install the firewall shut-off valves. Both Nacelles have been steam cleaned and a further dry cleaning has begun. All props have had teflon tapes installed and are awaiting reassembly. A new plate for the tail cone has been fabricated and painted. The updated tail beacon has been wired in and undergoing final installation. All cabin windows are being prepped for their installation with all new seals and NOS gun port plugs/gaskets. An interesting letter was uncovered during the ships disassembly and is under safeguard in the main office.


Propeller AD, damaged cabin window removal – may, 2023

Prop inspection completed and shanks ready for masking and epoxy primer. Teflon tapes to be installed shortly after cure. All cabin windows have been removed and skins inspected for corrosion. Windows have been reinstalled with a few fasteners until the new windows arrive. Window seals, gun port seals and gun port plugs have arrived.


Main Gear reassembly, engine cowling rework, control cable final safety, elt installation, hydraulic system reassembly. – december 2022

Main gear has been reassembled with overhauled R/H struts, new brake pads and R/H main tire installed. Power section cowling repairs have been completed and cowl flaps installed. All control cable safeties have been installed and a clear-to-close is underway. ELT installation complete in the R/H tail. Fabric repairs completed.

Fabric repairs, cowling structural repairs, hose replacements, main landing tire, brakes, strut re-seal. – December 2022

Flaps and flight controls re-rigged and range of movement inspections complete. Elevator fabric repairs have been started. Main R/H tire replacement complete with strut re-seals well underway. Brake pad replacement into work, awaiting replacement parts. Major engine oil leak corrective actions nearing completion. Hydraulic tank re-seal and selected hydraulic hard lines replaced. Oil pressure soft line replacement underway. Power section cowling into the structures shop undergoing repairs.

post-inspection corrective actions – november, 2022

All flaps have been disconnected from their linkages as the flap rod rollers undergo replacement. All flight control cables are set for range of movement corrections. Technicians are performing all of the vast engine oil leak corrections on various intake pipes, pushrod tube, pin-caps, etc. Preparations are being made for a R/H main tire replacement and R/H main gear strut re-seal.
